This letter tray was designed to provide shape and color options for home offices. Its contemporary design consists of two parts that unite to create storage for letter-sized documents and legal-sized pads. The clean line design keeps papers in place and allows easy access.
There are two heights for the tray; 3.5″ and 3″. Its dimensions are 9.5″ (24.13 cm) x 12.5″ (31.75 cm). The back and front sections slide together and are secured by plugs. The plugs can be hot glued in place if a more secure fit is desired. I call this method Chamber Plug Interlock or CPI.
This model was designed using the Chamber Plug Interlock (CPI) technique, a practical and effective 3D modeling technique designed to enhance the strength and stability of larger models, such as drawers and trays. By incorporating interlocking sections that fit snugly together, this method allows for solid connections between parts. The use of plugs at the joints not only secures these connections, but also distributes stress evenly throughout the model, significantly improving its structural integrity.
